Business review website Kudosto.com.au recently posted a blog on the top 5 questions a property owner should ask a real estate agent is they are thinking of selling their property.

As Kudosto is a sister company of intouch Finance we wanted to share these insights with as many readers as possible.

Finding the right real estate agent to sell your property is never easy. Many home owners can feel intimidated when they start the process as they know the real estate agent is going into sell mode when the negotiation process kicks off.

Real Estate Agents.pngI often hear “ how do I know if they are telling me the truth or are they just telling me what they think I want to hear”.

It is a good question, so one of the ways in which we can limit the intimidation is to put the onus back onto the real estate agent by asking them to articulate why you should choose them.

It would be very interesting in gaining an insight into their relationship building skills, their confidence levels and their tone when they the answer your questions.

With the assistance of well known Sydney real estate Agent, Peter Sachs, from Sachs Real Estate, here are the questions to help you get on the front foot.

  1. How long have you been in the industry and are you licensed?
  2. What is your conversion from your opinion price to the eventual sale price?
  3. Would you be happy for me to contact your last five transaction vendors for a reference?.
  4. What is your fee structure?
  5. If I engage your company, will you be handling the whole process?

It is only 5 questions and a competent real estate agent should have no problem providing you with concise answers.

Best of luck
